“What is it that you’ve found?” he asked, squinting into the sun. “She is still searching, but you, you’ve found it… whatever it is.”
She replied, “I’ve only found something that was never lost. Something that we all know yet pretend not to know. Look around, look at her, look at everyone, frantically searching. Scouring high and low to find the one thing that will fill the space. The space is there for a reason. The key is to stop looking out there. It’s all here.”
His cynical laughter gave way to a sincere longing deep in his eyes. He started to speak but his voice too soft to hear trailed away into the wind.
We all long to know what’s missing but what if nothing was missing this whole time. Would that knowledge change your approach to life?
When I feel lost or disconnected, I like to use sacred sounds to remind me of my infinite nature; to remind me of the beauty in all aspects of life, even the ones I see as inequities. Just as sound vibrates deep into the heart of the universe so does mantra move deep into my own heart.
Try singing a mantra to help clear doubt and provide protection. “Aad Guray Nameh, Jugaad Guray Nameh, Sat Guray Nameh, Siri Guru Devay Nameh” translates as I recognize the great unseen wisdom which is true through the ages. This mantra connects us to our deep innate wisdom and allows us to be guided by our highest self.
